2025, April 8th
For its 8th workshop, Ready4h2 will invite Prof Dr Gerald Linke, CEO of the German Gas and Water Association (DVGW) to present an overview of the strategic steps that DVGW is preparing to guide natural gas distribution system operators (DSO) towards a new hydrogen-driven future. The presentation will provide insights into how Germany is forging a new narrative on how gas DSOs are essential for Germany’s hydrogen-related climate ambitions, while still being associated with the fossil fuel industry.
Held 2024, February 10th
Following the workshop on the technical aspects of de-blending and hydrogen purification in December 2024, Ready4H2 hosted its 7th workshop with a focus on the commercial aspects and business case of the same. Speakers from Cadent Gas, Gasnet, Hinicio and SPP-Distribucia gave presentations on a range of topics, including the European legislative framework, public perception and financial implications to distribution system operators of blending and the interplay between gas transmission and distribution.
Held 2024, December 4th
Ready4H2 held its 6th workshop focusing on natural gas and hydrogen blending and deblending solutions, with a particular interest on latest technologies. As the technical management of blending is relatively well understood and is already being applied in numerous pilot projects by R4H2 members, the workshop covered the less understood technical aspects of “de-blending” and hydrogen purification for specific end-users.
Held 2024, November 12th
The Ready4H2 Steering Committee, its Partners and Frontier Economics team convened for a strategy workshop at Gasnet's offices in Prague. The aim was to define the hydrogen consumption scenarios that will form the basis of the geospatial mapping study (being conducted by Frontier), which is integral to Ready4H2’s advocacy. As well as developing key messages to form the project’s advocacy moving forward.
Held 2024, October 14th
Ready4H2 held its 4th workshop to review and analyse the results of the Ready4H2 DSO Transformation Roadmap Survey, issued to its 70+ members. These results are of paramount importance as they allow members to see their progress along the Roadmap and highlight the key areas where more support is needed.
Held 2024, October 2nd
Ready4H2 held its third workshop focusing on the safety issues associated with transporting hydrogen through the distribution grid. The workshop enabled the 66 participants to better understand the key technical, commercial and personnel issues, and stay up to date on the latest regulations, standards and technology.
Held 2024, September 10th
On 10 September, Ready4H2 held its second workshop focusing on the recent updates to the 2009 Gas Package (the Hydrogen and Decarbonised Gas Market Package), specifically the Gas Directive and Gas Regulation. Updates were shared with Ready4H2 Members, awareness of the impacts to distribution system operators (DSO) was raised, and ways to influence the regulator to minimise impacts was discussed.
Held 2024, June 26th
On 26 June, Ready4H2 held its first workshop in the 2024 series, showcasing projects that are underway or have completed the conversion of a grid section from natural gas to hydrogen, both for blended quantities and 100% hydrogen. The aim was to share lessons learned from such projects and provide recommendations for members embarking on similar projects.
