During the Ready4H2 project’s plenary meeting on 22 January 2025, attendees were pleased to be part of the signing of the project Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hydrogen Europe by its CEO, Jorgo Chatzimarkasis. As a leading organisation in the European hydrogen industry, the partnership with Hydrogen Europe further strengthens the collaboration that Ready4H2 has with its other six partners.
Both organisations share common goals, including ensuring the role of the distribution grid as one of the key links in the overall hydrogen value chain, and expanding and transforming gas distribution grids as part of the overall infrastructure needed to deliver hydrogen across Europe.
Ready4H2 Director, Barbara Jinks, said:
This partnership is highly important to our project, as Hydrogen Europe’s wide membership across private and public sectors is a formidable force in the advocacy for the use of hydrogen and understanding of the emerging hydrogen industry. This partnership lays the groundwork for joint initiatives, targeted advocacy and knowledge sharing. We look forward to deepening our collaboration.”
In mutual support of the partnership, Jorgo Chatzimarkakis said
Hydrogen Europe is delighted to formalise this partnership with Ready4H2, a project that exemplifies the importance of local distribution grids in enabling the hydrogen economy. By working together, we can strengthen Europe’s hydrogen value chain and accelerate the transformation of gas distribution infrastructure to meet future energy needs. Collaboration with projects like Ready4H2 underscores the shared commitment across industries and regions to drive the hydrogen transition forward.
