With Phase 3 of the Ready4H2 project ending last week, Hydrogen Europe ends its role as Project Administrator. The Hydrogen Europe team was thanked for its professional services and assistance with the project. We are pleased to announce that the European Research Institute for Gas and Energy Innovation (ERIG) is the new Administrator for Phase 4.
ERIG is a European research and development organisation, based in Brussels, that aims to foster the role of gas and innovative gas technologies in the future energy system in synergy with the intermittent renewable energy production as a European network based on research. Part of ERIG’s work is focused on demonstrating the role of hydrogen and gas distribution in achieving the European energy transition through their support for numerous projects and the publication of scientific papers.
Ready4H2 Director, Barbara Jinks, visited the ERIG office and welcomed the team to the project: "I am happy that ERIG could take up the role as Project Administrator, as this type of work is their core skill and, as a Partner on the project, they already understand the project well."
Hans Rasmusson, ERIG Secretary General, was equally happy to take on the role:
"The hydrogen transition will only succeed if gas consumers are connected to a secure supply of hydrogen, which is what the members of Ready4H2 are working towards. The approach of Ready4H2 fits with the ERIG theses for an integrated European energy future that advocates a top-down and bottom-up approach to ensure a successful hydrogen transition where no person or place is left behind. We are looking forward to a productive year supporting the Ready4H2 Team."
