This week the Ready4H2 Project kicked off a new study to develop a practical guide for the overall process of planning gas distribution networks for hydrogen. This will cover the assessment, modelling and technical considerations of constructing new hydrogen-dedicated grids, converting existing natural gas grids to hydrogen, and blending hydrogen with natural gas. Lessons learned from projects will be shared, as well as further research identified. The study will be developed by Ready4H2 members in collaboration with the DBI Group.
DBI Project Manager Jens Huettenrauch stated: “We are excited to launch this new study with Ready4H2 and develop a useful guide for its members.” In turn, Ready4H2 Director Barbara Jinks stated: ”We are pleased to be working again with DBI to jointly deliver this essential tool that will assist our members better plan their grids for the future.”
